Shape the sound of community radio in Preston

We are currently looking for individuals from the business and community sectors in Preston and the surrounding areas, to share their opinions on community radio in Preston. DigiEnable is currently conducting a piece of city wide research to help shape the future of community radio station Preston FM, by taking on board the needs of various sectors.

 

Will Curiosity make us fat?

It’s been a couple of months since we first started working alongside Curious Minds as one of their “Film/TV and Media Curious Agents”. The role has been intriguing and challenging in equal measures and has thrown up some issues we never envisaged at the outset. It also seems to have involved a little more cake than we initially expected.

 

Fancy being a radio presenter?

PrestonFM are on the lookout for new presenters to join the popular community radio station.

There are two new training courses starting this month, run by DigiEnable. They are free, friendly, practical and available to everyone living or working in Preston, South Ribble and the surrounding areas.No previous experience is necessary as full friendly support will be available from Preston FM team of trainers and volunteers.

The courses start soon so you need to be quick!

 

The Frecklestorne Report 2012

In 2005 a survey conducted by Freckleton Parish Council found that 72% of their residents supported the idea of a new community/sports centre in the area. As a result of this, a group who named themselves The Frecklestorne Project was established who aimed to bring this idea to fruition.

 

Digital Skills for Women in Manchester

DigiEnable are running Basic IT Skills and Social Media Skills courses and are looking forward to working with The MadLab, Manchester Girl Geeks, and the Manchester Libraries on this amazing project.

The Digital Skills for Women in Manchester workshops, taking place in five libraries from January to July 2013, will equip women with the tools they need in today’s workplace.

Designed to help arts and creative organisations, and sole traders with limited time and budget to promote their work online, this morning workshop by DigiEnable focuses on ‘Effective writing for the web’.

Followed in the afternoon by ‘Simple website creation using iopen source', which focuses on simple Wordpress blogging software run by www.leandaryan.com
